Kooringal High School is a centre of excellence for the Creative and Performing Arts. We have a highly talented and enthusiastic staff who foster creativity across dance, drama, music, visual art, digital media, timber and metal construction and live production.
Students must study 100 hours of both music and visual arts during Years 7 to 10. They also have an opportunity to further develop their knowledge and skills in other art forms through elective subjects including drama, dance, photography and visual design. Students can then select from a range of courses in Years 11 to 12.
We stage multiple large live stage productions throughout the school year—our mainstage musical composing of 10 to 12 performances over two weeks. We aim to foster the talents and capabilities of our students by providing them with the skills required to immerse themselves in the pre-production, production and post-production of their creative works and the works of others. We offer extra curricular band and drama programs for those students who want to take their love of the arts to the next level.
Kooringal High School fosters strong links with local theatres, tertiary training institutions and the broader performance community and has proved a valuable training ground for young performers.
