Kooringal High School's entry in the Focus on Ability Short Film Festival ‘"We Can Do it" won Most Online Votes in the Schools section of the tenth annual international competition.
Kooringal High School (KHS) received their prize at the gala awards night at The Concourse in Sydney on 5 September to a crowd of 650 people. They won prizes & cash to the value of $10,000.
The film demonstrates the abilities of the IO Class at KHS, from art to maths to sport to science, and features students singing, ‘Friends Are The Key’. You can view the short film here https://www.focusonability.com.au/FOA/films/We_can_do_it_1426.html
KHS student Ben McGill’s thank you speech included the following, ‘I’m excited to be here and we enjoyed making the film. It allowed us to experience different film techniques while focusing on about abilities. Thank you to FOA organisers, and staff and students from our school.’
