At Kooringal High School, our transition program helps students build friendships, become familiar with their new environment and develop the confidence needed for a successful start to high school.

Beginning high school can feel like a big step for both students and parents.
Our dedicated staff work closely with local primary schools and families to ensure every student feels welcomed, supported and prepared for the transition.
As the Riverina's only partially selective public high school, Kooringal High School offers diverse academic, sporting, creative and vocational opportunities while maintaining a strong focus on student wellbeing and belonging.
Year 6 to 7 Transition Program
Throughout Year 6, students have opportunities to become familiar with Kooringal High School through a range of transition activities, including:
- School tours and orientation visits
- Parent information sessions
- Meet the teacher opportunities
- Peer support activities with senior students
- Subject tasters and classroom experience
- Wellbeing and transition workshops

Our annual Year 7 Orientation Day provides students with an opportunity to:
